Constitution Project Encourages Civic Learning Opportunities

The owner of Agha Construction, real estate developer Nader Agha helped create two subdivisions that increased the population of Soledad, CA, from about 4,000 to 26,000. Outside of his professional pursuits, Nader Agha of CA serves as a board member of the Dan and Lillian King Foundation, which aims to educate young people about the United States Constitution.

In collaboration with the Monterey County Office of Education, the Dan and Lillian King Foundation sponsors the Constitution Project in various Monterey County elementary schools. The program is designed to teach important lessons about the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, and their role in American society. Program objectives work in alignment with state educational standards, including Common Core and California English Language Development Standards, to impart principles of freedom, liberty, and justice.

The Constitution Project aims to support valuable learning objectives for California students, including improving civic engagement, life readiness, and overall academic performance. As part of its curriculum, the project offers field trips for middle school history teachers and students. One memorable trip involved traveling to San Francisco to see Hamilton: An American Musical.

About Nader Agha

Since 1970, Nader Agha has owned and operated Agha Construction in Monterey, CA. As a real estate developer, he buys, sells, and entitles properties for commercial and residential uses. His projects include two subdivisions that played a central role in increasing the populatin of Soledad, CA, from 4,000 to 26,000 over 40 years. Additionally, Nader Agha transformed an abandoned 188-acre coastal industrial site into the Moss Landing Commercial Park. He also owns and manages multiple properties.

Among his current projects, Mr. Agha is working to develop a property that will hold the largest fish farm in the U.S. He recently signed the lease on the property, which is already home to fish tanks capable of holding five-million gallons each. The project is inspired by established aquaculture practices in Spain.

He is also committed to giving back to the community, but he prefers not to discuss it, as he feels receiving attention for the good deeds diminishes the pleasure and satisfaction he derives from them. He generally focuses his charitable-giving on nonprofit organizations and people in need.
